This funding is through the Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families. This grant is in partnership with William Byrd Community House. The funds will establish collaboration with partnering agencies, organization training, and ultimately better address the concerns of Richmond's disadvantaged youth. -0/3-/2007 Nunnally Trust Grant Received!SynerGeo is pleased to announce that a grant has been received from the Nunnally Trust. This $40,000.00 will provide needed rennovations for our building. Thank you Nunnally Trust! -0/9-/2006 AmeriCorp grant awarded for Fourth Year!We are pleased to announce that once again SynerGeo is a recipient of a grant from AmeriCorps and the Corporation for National and Community Service. This generous grant enables us to fund 8 AmeriCorps member positions this year. AmeriCorps members work full or part-time with one of our SynerGeo Initiatives. They receive a small stipend for their work as well as an education voucher at the end of their term of service. -0/6-/2006 Yard Sale ManiaThank you to the commuity for supporting your local neighborhood arts center. Thanks to your contributions & donations, we raised over $400.00 during the yard sale. The proceeds will support our art programs. Art Camp will begin June 26th - June 30th. This Tuesday, these outstanding 11-13 year olds will help with our after-school tutoring/mentoring program, Kids on the Hill. They will also share what it is like for them to live in Brooklyn as a young person. The Computer Literacy Program is offered at no cost to community members, and provides children & adults with hands-on computer skills and training. This funding will allow us to better serve community members by making it possible to purchase computers, printers, and software. SynerGeo currently maintains an eight station computer lab in facilities provided by Pine Street Baptist Church. |
